Deliciously Handcrafted Food

Mission Statement

Our food is made from scratch by us, using our own recipes! Some of these recipes we developed years ago, some were developed right on the truck to meet the ever changing needs of the venue and our customers. Whether it's a marinade, dressing, sauce or dessert, it is made by us, for you. Nothing is pre packaged or processed. We are committed to providing the best service and using the freshest and most locally sourced food possible. Oh yeah, and we’ll all have some fun, too!

We believe you'll taste the difference and we guarantee flavor, lots of it! Each order is made personally for you. All of our food is prepared and served to you from the full commercial kitchen on our truck. Our menu is geared toward our Handcrafted Signature Sandwiches and sides. We are also able to prepare any type of cuisine to meet your needs. Full catering for personal and corporate parties and events is available, with or without the truck.

The Owners/Founders:
Betsy Eicher/Randy Reichelderfer

What started as a conversation at a family picnic one Sunday afternoon, turned into what is now the Urban Grill Food Truck! We agreed we wanted to serve flavorful food at the highest level of excellence. Today we stick to the principles we put into place upon building our business.

We also wanted to build a truck with the same level of excellence and great flexibility. Months of planning and building took place. Urban Grill Cincy is the most well equipped local food truck with 3 large refrigeration units, 2 full convection ovens, flat top griddle, double burners, char grill, fryer and even an on board wood smoker. Polished stainless steel marine grade outlets, fittings and hardware were used throughout the truck. An impressive sound and light show inside and out as well as an extremely quiet generator large enough to power the Urban Grill (and another truck should they need a hand!). We are thrilled to be serving the folks of Cincinnati and that's why we chose to feature photos of the city on our truck, shot by 2 local photographers. This provides great entertainment as people tour the truck looking at familiar sights and figuring out locations of photographic scenes.

Randy and Betsy are both life long Cincinnatians with deep connections to the Ohio River life. Betsy grew up on her family's houseboat at Four Seasons Marina, Randy and his wife Sue owned a marina here in Cincinnati. Notice any 'boating influences' on the truck? Yes, those are boat air horns on top, right off a 1962 Tucker houseboat built here in Cincy. Go ahead, ask for a blast! And that is a real brass porthole recovered from a sunken boat on the back of the truck. And if you listen to us talk to each other you'll hear Port and Starboard, not Left and Right.

Betsy has designed gourmet kitchens in her last 2 homes. Hosting family events, developing recipes for large tailgating parties and her food blog are second nature. Betsy was kind enough to donate her expertise as the general contractor for The Anderson Hills United Methodist Church, in Anderson Township. She not only oversaw the major remodel of the church but the design and installation of a large commercial kitchen there.

Randy's parents were homestyle country cooks. They both cooked from scratch and there was always some sort of fresh cookie, pie or doughnut if you stopped by. Oh yes, and there was a jar of bacon grease that lived on the stove. It added just the right amount of "yummy" to breakfast, lunch and dinner. Randy has picked up all those 'cooking genes.' During truck construction, his creative mechanical ability came in handy.

This is a local family business. Randy is married to Betsy's sister, Sue. That being said, "Ground Rule #1" no discussion of family topics while on the truck! If not discussing truck business, one of their favorite discussions is their love of their dogs, which are of a similar breed.
